In response to the call of the school’s ‘Happy Reading Month’ activity, and in combination with the characteristics of lower grade students, at the beginning of April, the Chinese teachers of Grade One carried out the ‘Disciple Rules’ reading activity. By means of the time before class, morning reading and class meetings, the teachers continued to read ‘Disciple Rules’ and ‘Classics of Chinese studies’ to consolidate and guide students' reading so as to improve the efficiency of students' word recognition and expand their literacy.
In the meantime, in the following month, we will continue to give full play to the functions of DingTalk Platform, Wechat Circle and Moments to encourage students to share parent-child reading photos and videos to stimulate their interest in reading. On the other hand, parents are encouraged to accompany students to watch cultural programs such as Chinese Idioms Conference and Chinese Poetry Conference on weekends to feel the charm of reading. Thus, the strong reading atmosphere created by this activity made the first grade students consciously fall in love with reading and get used to reading, who gained knowledge, happiness and a happy life from reading so that they could ‘meet the best of themselves in reading’!
